GUC’s VIS Team achieves 3rd rank in the CRCICA national pre-moot rounds

GUC’s Faculty of Law & Legal Studies congratulates its 2024–2025 Willem C. Vis Moot Court team on achieving 3rd place in the highly competitive national Alex U–CRCICA pre-moot rounds. Team members Abdallah Gohary, Hala Wael, Judy Hamdy, and Tasneem Aly, Habiba El Sayed and Logine Behairy demonstrated strong skills in legal argumentation and advocacy. Tasneem Aly won the Best Oralist Award for Claimant, with Judy Hamdy as First Runner-Up and Hala Wael as Second Runner-Up for Respondent. Abdallah El Gohary received an Honorable Mention for his performance. Their success was made possible through the expert coaching of Mariam El Gazzar and Youssef Hatem, who played a key role in refining their strategies. They qualified to try for the international rounds in Vienna, with the leading firms as their sponsors, being Rizkana & Partners and Sharkawy & Sarhan.



The Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot, established in 1994, is one of the most prestigious moot court competitions in the world. It brings together over 350 law schools from more than 80 countries and is known for its emphasis on international commercial law and arbitration. The competition is renowned for its rigorous written and oral advocacy and culminates in final rounds judged by leading academics, practitioners, and international arbitrators.
