GUC’s Faculty of Law & Legal Studies is pleased to announce the participation of its 2024–2025 Jessup team in the national rounds of the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition.

Team members Abdelrahman El Sherif, Farida Maklad, Hana Fikry, Sarah Ali, and Ziad Tarek, with Mina Moro as researcher, performed well in both the written and oral rounds. The team received the Second-Best Memorial Award, and Farida Maklad was awarded Best Oralist for her performance. This success was the result of extensive preparation under the guidance of coaches Mariam Hany and Salma Soliman, with additional support from Teaching Assistants Farah Tarek and Salma Ismail.

The Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition, established in 1960, is widely regarded as the oldest and largest moot court competition in the world. It features participation from over 700 law schools across more than 100 countries and is known for its intense preparation, complex issues of public international law, and prestigious international rounds, where judges of the International Court of Justice often serve on the bench.
