Excursion to the League of Arab States

On 18 December 2024, the GUC Faculty of Law & Legal Studies’ Public International Law Department organized a student excursion to the League of Arab States’ (LAS) HQ in Cairo. The visit was led by Dr. Nora Salem and Teaching Assistants Farah Tarek and Salma Ismail, with the participation of 80 law students. The visit coincided with World Arabic Language Day, offering students the chance to attend a session of the LAS General Secretariat. Distinguished speakers, including Dr. Haifa Abu Ghazaleh and Professor Dr. Amr Ezzat Salama, addressed the significance of the Arabic language in diplomacy, education, and cultural dialogue.

In addition, LAS officials—Minister Plenipotentiaries Malek Mosali and Fadi Ashaya—shared insights on regional cooperation, diplomacy, security, and arms control. The event concluded with an engaging Q&A session, during which students discussed topics such as Arab-German relations, regional legal collaboration, and the potential development of an Arab Court of Justice.
