Prof. Nora Salem 

Prof. Nora Salem is a full-time Associate Professor of Public International Law and Head of the Public International Law Department at GUC’s Faculty of Law and Legal Studies. Prior to that appointment, she served as the International Relations Advisor to the Minister of Tourism of the Arab Republic of Egypt. Prof. Salem has extensive academic experience, having worked as an Assistant Professor at the American University in Cairo (AUC) and GUC, where she held lectures on various legal subjects including Egyptian and Sharia Law, Public International Law in the Middle East, and Women's Rights.

Prof. Salem's research focuses on gender equality and the impact of international conventions on domestic legislation. She recently published a book assessing Egypt’s legal framework in light of the UN Women’s Rights Convention, covering topics such as Personal Status Law, Criminal Law, Labor Law, Nationality Law, Anti-Human Trafficking Law, and Egypt’s 2014 Constitution. Her work provides significant insights into the intersection of international law and domestic legal reforms.

Prof. Salem graduated from the Faculty of Law, University of Cologne, Germany, completed her two-year legal residency at the High Regional Court of Düsseldorf, and obtained the German bar examination in 2012. She holds a Ph.D. in Law from Friedrich-Schiller University in Jena, Germany, and conducted her research as a Visiting Scholar at Fordham Law School in New York, USA. During her stay in New York, she served in various capacities for the United Nations Secretariat.

Prof. Ola Zaher 

Prof. Ola Zaher is a full-time Assistant Professor of Civil Law at GUC’s Faculty of Law and Legal Studies. She graduated from the Faculty of Law, Mansura University with a Bachelor's degree in 1992 and obtained her Master's degree in 1996. In 2002, she received her Ph.D. in Law from Nantes University, France, specializing in the field of damages of nuclear weapons.

Prof. Zaher has been teaching at the University of Mansoura from 2002 until 2019 before joining GUC. Her academic contributions include courses on Drafting of Contracts and Lawsuits, Personal Status Law of Non-Muslims, and Research Seminars.

Prof. Zaher's extensive academic background and research interests in civil law make her a valuable member of the GUC faculty, contributing significantly to the legal education of her students.

Prof. Mohamed Abdelhameed Soliman 

Prof. Mohamed Soliman is a full-time Assistant Professor of Public Law at GUC’s Faculty of Law and Legal Studies. He teaches primarily Public Law courses at GUC, providing a comprehensive legal education to his students.

Prof. Soliman's expertise lies in constitutional law, administrative law, administrative judiciary, principles of commercial law, and social insurance law. His extensive teaching experience has equipped him with a deep understanding of public law and its applications.

Prof. Soliman holds a Master in Administrative Science and a Ph.D. degree in Public Law. His academic background and professional experience in public law make him a valuable asset to both GUC and the broader legal community.

Prof. Ahmed Elkahwagy 

Prof. Ahmed Elkahwagy is an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Criminal Law at GUC’s Faculty of Law and Legal Studies. In addition to his role at GUC, he serves as a full-time Assistant Professor of Criminal Law at Alexandria University. Prof. Elkahwagy is also the Secretary General for Alexandria Law Review and the Executive Director of Alexandria Center for Arbitration and Legal Services for the academic year 2023/2024.

Prof. Elkahwagy specializes in criminal law and arbitration. His work experience includes extensive academic and practical engagements in criminal law, legal arbitration, and legal services. He has contributed to various academic journals and reviews, providing valuable insights into criminal justice and legal arbitration.

Prof. Elkahwagy graduated from Alexandria University, where he earned his Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) and later pursued advanced legal studies. He received his Ph.D. in Criminal Law from the same institution, showcasing his commitment to both academia and practical legal expertise.

Prof. Ahmed F. Khalifa 

Prof. Ahmed Khalifa is an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Criminal Law at GUC’s Faculty of Law and Legal Studies. He also serves as a full-time Assistant Professor of Criminal Law and International Criminal Law at Ain Shams University. In addition, Prof. Khalifa is the Deputy Secretary General of the International Association of Penal Law and the Middle East Regional Coordinator for the University of Oxford Price Media Moot Court Competition.

Prof. Khalifa's expertise includes criminal law, international criminal law, and humanitarian law. He is an expert consultant and trainer with several international organizations, including the International Committee of the Red Cross, the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), and UN Women. His research interests cover international criminal law, international humanitarian law, and comparative criminal law. He has served as an in-house legal consultant with the United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute (UNICRI) in Italy.

Prof. Khalifa obtained his LLM focusing on International Human Rights Law from Temple University in the USA. He received his Ph.D. in International Criminal Law from Poitiers University in France, where his thesis focused on "Les techniques d’imputation devant les juridictions pénales internationales." He teaches various courses at GUC, including Criminology and Penology, Criminal Law, International Criminal Law, International Humanitarian Law, Introduction to Common Law, and Environmental Law.

Prof. Ashraf Gaber 

Prof. Ashraf Gaber is an Adjunct Professor of Civil Law at GUC’s Faculty of Law and Legal Studies. He has previously served as the Head of the Civil Law Department at Helwan University and Director of the Quality Assurance Unit at Helwan University. Prof. Gaber is also a member of the List of Arbitrators in the Scientific Committee for the Promotion of Professors and Assistant Professors in Private Law.

Prof. Gaber's research interests include medical liability, insurance, intellectual property, legal reform, internet law, and artificial intelligence. He has worked as a consultant for the United Nations Development Program and the League of Arab States, contributing to significant projects on women's legal rights. Prof. Gaber has participated in numerous international conferences and has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and conferences.

Prof. Gaber obtained his Ph.D. in Civil Law from the Faculty of Law, Cairo University, and the University of Sorbonne, France, in a joint supervision program. His doctoral thesis, titled "Insurance from the Civil Liability of Physicians," compared civil law and Islamic law perspectives.

Prof. Mohamed Abdel Raouf 

Prof. Mohamed Abdel Raouf is an Adjunct Assistant Professor for Commercial Law at GUC’s Faculty of Law and Legal Studies. He also teaches international arbitration and sports law at the delocalized Cairo branch of Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne and serves as an Egyptian Attorney at Law, Partner, and Head of the International Arbitration Group at ABDEL RAOUF LAW FIRM, Cairo-Egypt.

Prof. Abdel Raouf specializes in international arbitration, ADR, commercial contracts, investment agreements, construction, real estate, and sports-related disputes. His extensive arbitration experience covers a wide range of arbitration rules, including those of CRCICA, UNCITRAL, ICC, LCIA, ICSID, and more. He has acted as an arbitrator, co-arbitrator, and chairperson in numerous domestic and international arbitrations and has served as counsel for private and public entities in many international commercial and investment arbitrations.

Prof. Abdel Raouf holds a Ph.D. in private law from the University of Montpellier I, France, where he was awarded the distinction très honorable avec les félicitations du jury for his thesis on "The International Arbitrator and State Contracts." He also holds a Diploma in Business Law, a Master's degree in International Business Law from Cairo University, and a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from Cairo University.

Prof. Mohamed Okasha Abdelaal 

Prof. Mohamed Okasha is an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Civil Law at the GUC’s Faculty of Law and Legal Studies. He also serves as a full-time Assistant Professor of Commercial Law at the Faculty of Law, Alexandria University. He teaches courses on Companies Law, International Business Transactions, Commercial Law, Banking Law, Competition Law, and Aviation Law.

Prof. Okasha's research interests include competition law, bankruptcy, and mergers and acquisitions. His recent scholarship has been published in the Chicago-Kent Law Review and Alexandria University Law Review. He is currently the director of the Alexandria University Faculty of Law Center for Arbitration and Legal and Economic Studies.

Prof. Okasha received his Bachelor's degree from Alexandria University Faculty of Law, his LL.M. from the University of California, Berkeley, and his J.S.D. from the University of California, Berkeley. His academic journey reflects a strong foundation in commercial law and legal studies.

Prof. Mohammad Bedier 

Judge Mohamed Bedier is an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Civil Law at GUC’s Faculty of Law and Legal Studies. He studied law at Cairo University Law School and acquired his LL.B. in 2000. He completed his postgraduate studies at Cairo University Law School and holds an LL.M. degree from Indiana University Law School, graduating as the highest-ranking LL.M. candidate. Prof. Bedier also holds an S.J.D. from Indiana University, Robert H. McKinney Law School.

Prof. Bedier has extensive judicial and legal experience, having served as an Associate District Attorney, Junior Judge, and Vice President of the Egyptian State Council. His international experience includes roles such as Legal Expert at the Presidential Office of the Prince of Qatar and General Counsel of Paradise Capital Holding for Financial Investments. Currently, he is the Regional Legal Advisor of METITO.

Prof. Bedier's research interests include M&A, market regulation, cross-border transactions, and economic analysis of law. He has published works on these topics and teaches courses at GUC, including Law of Evidence. His areas of expertise also encompass administrative law, public procurement, and employment law.

Prof. Sarah AlGhorab 

Prof. Sarah AlGhorab is an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Public Law at GUC’s Faculty of Law and Legal Studies. She also serves as a full-time Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Law, Alexandria University. Prof. AlGhorab has several years of experience in the education field, holding lectures on Administrative Law, Constitutional Law, Private International Law, and the History of Legal Systems.

Prof. AlGhorab earned her LL.B from Alexandria University, Egypt, with Highest Honors in 2007. She completed her LL.M in Public Law at Cairo University, Egypt, and holds a Ph.D. in Law from Alexandria University. Her doctoral research focused on the “Impediments of exercising political rights.”

Prof. AlGhorab has served as a Judge during the Price Media Law Moot Court Competition held at the British University of Egypt (BUE) in 2017. She teaches courses at GUC, including Administrative Law, Private International Law, History of Legal Systems, and Introduction to Law.

Prof. Yassin El Shazly 

Prof. Yassin El Shazly is an Adjunct Professor of Commercial Law at GUC’s Faculty of Law and Legal Studies. He serves as the Dean of the Faculty of Law and Professor of Commercial & Maritime Law at Ain Shams University. Prof. El Shazly has held various academic positions at international universities, including Bordeaux University, Lyon 3 University, Qatar University, Sultan Qaboos University, and the American University in Cairo (AUC).

Prof. El Shazly specializes in business law, commercial contracts, maritime law, and arbitration. He has extensive experience negotiating and drafting business contracts and serving as legal counsel in commercial disputes. He is a qualified arbitrator listed in the rosters of several arbitral institutions and regularly participates as an expert witness in international arbitration cases.

Prof. El Shazly holds a doctoral degree in Business Law from Jean Moulin Lyon University, France. He also has a Master's degree in law from Ain Shams University and Lyon, and a Master's degree in political science from Jean Moulin Lyon. His educational background is complemented by a diploma in comparative law (American law- English Law).

Dr. Tarek Zaghloul

Dr. Tarek Zaghloul is an Adjunct Professor of Criminal Law at GUC’s Faculty of Law and Legal Studies. He also serves as a full-time Professor of Criminal Law at Ain Shams University, where he previously held the position of Head of the Criminal Law Department (2024–2025). He brings over two decades of academic experience and has held teaching and leadership roles at several institutions, including Al Buraimi University College in Oman and the Emirates Academy for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Border Security in the UAE, where he served as Dean of Academic Affairs (2015–2023).

Prof. Zaghloul specializes in Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure, with a strong focus on emerging legal challenges such as cybercrime, artificial intelligence and criminal justice, cryptocurrency regulation, and anti-money laundering. He has authored multiple books and over twenty peer-reviewed articles on topics such as terrorism, economic crimes, moral harassment, and the legal implications of predictive algorithms and deepfake technology. In addition to supervising numerous doctoral theses, he has contributed to national legislative efforts, including the Draft Law on Artificial Intelligence Regulation (2023) and the Draft Law Banning Social Media for Children Under 16 (2025). He is also a registered external reviewer for academic promotions.

Prof. Zaghloul earned his Ph.D. in Law from Ain Shams University in 2010 with the grade of “Very Good with Honors” for his dissertation on the criminal liability of financial intermediaries in stock market operations. He holds a Master’s and LL.B. in Law from the same university. His international academic training includes a research fellowship at Jean Moulin Lyon 3 University in France (2006–2008).

Dr. Inés Taha

Dr. Inés Mohamed Taha is a full-time Lecturer of Public Law at GUC’s Faculty of Law and Legal Studies. She previously held academic roles at the Faculty of Law, University of Lyon 3/Ain Shams (Master’s in Public Law of Business and Strategic Sectors), and at the French University in Egypt (UFE) in the Master’s in International Relations program. She was also a founding faculty member and full-time lecturer at the Faculty of Law at the British University in Egypt (BUE).

Dr. Inés specializes in public finance, tax law, administrative law, and public economic law, with a focus on development and decentralization policies in the context of legal reform. She is a member of the Egyptian Bar Association and has worked as a specialist in taxation and public contracts. Her professional experience also includes legal translation in Arabic, French, and English. Her research interests cover a wide range of public law topics, including fiscal interventionism, public policy, local institutions, and the legal frameworks of development.

Dr. Inés holds a Ph.D. in Public Finance from Grenoble University, Faculty of Law, with a dissertation titled "The Fiscal Interventionism: Tax and Foreign Direct Investment in Developing Countries, the case of Egypt." She also earned a Master’s degree in Public Law from Grenoble University, where she wrote her thesis on the extraterritorial competence of the state. Additionally, she holds a Master 1 in International Business Law and a joint Bachelor of Law (French and Egyptian Law) from Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University and Cairo University (IDAI).

Dr. Mostafa Mahdy

Dr. Mostafa Mahdy Mohamed’s is Lecturer of Islamic Sharia at the GUC. His journey with Islamic studies — despite being in his mid-thirties — has begun more than two decades ago. He had spent 11 years studying Islamic Sharia at the great entity of Al Azhar.

The fact that he had received his bachelor’s degree with honors and being top of his class in 2012 was not the end of his academic career, but rather a beginning of a new phase in his scientific and academic journey. In 2013, Mostafa had joined the academic Staff of the faculty of Law, Ain Shams University as an Islamic Sharia teaching assistant. In 2017 he got promoted to an assistant lecturer after having Received his master's degree from Al Azhar University, three years later, he got his third promotion and became a lecturer after being granted his PhD degree in Islamic jurisprudence.

Mostafa’s rich journey of spreading knowledge has not been limited to his students at Ain Shams university, but expanded to include teaching at many long-established institutions such as being a part-time lecturer at the Faculty of Sharia and Law, Al Azhar University; the Faculty of Islamic and Arabic studies, Al Azhar University; and the Faculty of Law and Legal studies, the British University in Cairo.

Dr. Fatma Saeed

Dr. Fatma Adel Saeed is a Lecturer at the GUC. In addition to her role at GUC, she serves as an Associate Professor of Civil and Commercial Procedural Law at the Faculty of Law, Ain Shams University.

Dr. Fatma earned her LL.B., LL.M., and Ph.D. degrees from the Faculty of Law at Ain Shams University. Her academic background has provided a strong foundation for her career in both teaching and legal research.

An active legal scholar, Dr. Fatma has contributed numerous publications and participated in various academic conferences. Her teaching experience spans multiple universities, and her primary research interests include procedural law, forced execution, and arbitration.
